HAPPY MAY DAY TO YOU ALL...

May is here.. another month behind us.. If your like us May is always so busy...I think more than Christmas for us.

I remember the may pole from back in elementary school. I loved all the colorful ribbons in the picture, reminds me of all the colors coming out in our flowers as they are blooming, from now till fall...AWW the splendor of color.
Have a fabulous weekend and a terrific month ahead. Blessings to you.

Happy May Day to you, too, Jolyn! I remember hanging flower baskets on my best friend's front door on May 1st, as it was her birthday.

My Mother didn't like the "may pole" tradition though because she said it was originally a pagan fertility rite where both sexes danced around this phallic symbol to insure the fertility of women, & crops. It is part of a feature in conducting "Beltane" festivities which are celebrated by Pagan Witches. Yikes!
I prefer the pretty ribbons in your shot, wrapped by innocent children!

Thanks for stopping by the Gazebo House.
BTW, what color are your peonies? I have lots of pink but am hoping to find some white ones soon.
